B asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday this year. I told him go to the zoo and spend the night at the Embassy Suites. My wish was granted. Even though we were all not feeling 100%, we (I) was determined to go.
Before we get to the zoo pics, I want to take a look at birthdays past. It amazing to me to see the difference in Colton and Elliette. Here we are at the Dallas Zoo entrance on my birthday 2009.

Here we are last year on my birthday 2008. Look at Colton's chubby face and Ellie's short hair. My babies.

I am posting this picture to remind all pregnant moms and myself that it is all worth it. This pic was taken on 2/10/07. Exactly one month before the babies arrived 4 1/2 weeks early and 11 days before my birthday. It is the last picture I allowed to be taken before the hospital stay. I am modeling the double diaper bag 'My Girls' sent me. Yes I was huge. I know. But look who I have to show for it!

Colton and Elliete gazing at the adorable penguins. My favorite of course.

B and the babies watching the monkeys. They were swinging from limb to limb. It was fun to watch.

Many animals were not out due to weather. We spent a lot of time in the Children's Zoo. Here Colton is showing the turtles to Ellie.

They have huge turtle shells through which to crawl. Colton would get to the end, and then crawl backwards out. He would not go through all the way. Who knows why.

Ellie had no problem. Until she jumped up to go do it again and banged her head on the shell. Ouch.

They loved looking at the giant fish. A girl, around five years, came and sat by us. Colton was so excited about the fish. He turned to the girl and kept repeating, "Fish! Fish!" She wasn't impressed. But it made B and me laugh.

Elliette and Daddy checking out a lizard. She liked he tongue.

The ducks were extra talkative. It was fun to listen to them quack.

This is my favorite picture of the weekend. My beautiful family playing on the bed in the hotel room. My ideal afternoon. I couldn't ask for more.

Well, maybe I could. My birthday weekend was cut short when Ellie kept coughing more and more, started running fever, and her eyes got red and swollen. Sound familiar? On top of that, my cold moved down to my chest and I woke up Sunday morning with no voice. But I am glad we went. I am also very thankful for my loving husband to take us all and then take care of us, too.

You are the funniest! I LOVE the preggo pic. We have all been there - at least sort of. I did not have two babies at one time, but with the second, I felt like it! Ha! Love you. Glad you had a great birthday!!! (we love the dallas zoo too!)
