Real Cereal

This post it dedicated to Uncle Peyton. The ultimate cereal connoisseur.
We have oatmeal and cream of wheat every week. But never wet, cold, milky cereal. I have been pining for this day for a couple of reasons. #1: It is an easy way to get in milk. My kids are not fans of milk and have never drank it. Weird huh? And #2: What an easy breakfast! But I knew it would not be a speedy breakfast nor a non-messy event. So I have put it off. Until I found these bowls with built-in straws. I have seen them before but forgot they existed. This morning seemed like a good time to try them out since I am still coughing a lot and couldn't go to the Y.

They got right to it. Colton was a pro. Some milk escaped from his spoon, but not too much really. Ellie was more into loading her spoon full of Cheerios and then dumping them out.

See what I mean, he is pretty good. I should have expected it though. Eating is probably Colton's favorite pastime.

Ellie did sneak in a few bites. She drank from her straw well, too. I hope this will be a good way to get her more calcium. Currently cheese is her primary calcium provider. Not the most healthy choice.

The most fun was had by Colton. It took him all of half a second to discover 'bubbles' when I showed him the straw. Can you see the milk splattered on his face?
